Joseph Bernal received bachelor degrees in Philosophy and Psychology and a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He is currently an instructor of Philosophy at El Paso Community College. Currently Joseph has been researching on the concepts of information and information theory with the goal of clarifying its role in scientific explanations. He continues to work on this topic as an instructor and is scheduled to present his work at The Centre for Philosophy of Science of the University of Lisbon (CFCUL) this coming December. He will represent both El Paso Community College and the Philosophic Systems Institute at this prestigious international conference. In addition, Joseph is a member of a number of organizations including Eco-El Paso, EPCC Philosophy Club, Velo El Paso, and the Chenrezig Tibetan Cultural Center. He is currently working on a number of projects for PSI, from advocating and developing a bike share program for the city of El Paso to researching foundational issues within Quantum Mechanics. In his spare time he enjoys learning the Japanese art of Kendo and Iaido with the El Paso Kendo Club.
