Thanks Aaron and Joe for the article. This work is worth following indeed since they got a grant from fqxi for examining time in qm as well. Their approach is to figure out how information encoding and decoding can be formalized. And if entanglement (encoding) can give rise to time experienced, it may be the link to understanding the process from pure to mixed states.

Joe, can you set up a Doodle to find the best times to meet for this group on Ballentine? Every other week sounds reasonable, like John suggested.

It looks like we are beginning to work through Ballentine! We are also looking at a time to meet. Stay tuned for proposed times

Workshops will have three parts:

1) one dedicated to improving fundamentals as well as integration into Love of Wisdom projects. Ex: working through Ballentine and finding effective ways to convey key ideas 2) one dedicated to high-end research and work. Ex: problem of time in QM 3) one public (once per month), where the developments will be shared with the open public in a social and artistic way. Ex: Love & Entanglement of quantum systems, etc.

They will be closely associated with Projects and will have clear goals in 3 month semester periods

Ballentine has a definite take on the foundational problems (ensemble-type account), but it's definitely worth to walk along with him since he considers the issues from a strict probabilistic standpoint (a la Born but modern), which should fit our team's interest...Comments are welcome :)
